This past week, Nathan and I hit our official 4 months’ mark since we got married. It is hard to believe! The summer flew by, and while 4 months seems incredibly fast in some ways, it also seems nearly impossible to remember what it was like to NOT be married at this point.
On Friday, we got the opportunity to go out to dinner to celebrate 🙂 Thanks to my parents’ “housewarming” gift card to Bravo, we knew just the spot we wanted to go (okay, so maybe that was my choice and Nathan just didn’t complain!)
Bravo is one of my favorite places to eat, and I was looking forward to this date for the entire week (not an exaggeration.)
One of the best parts about dinner dates with Nate is that he is a generous sharer. I’d been wanting to try a scallop dish on the menu, but I’d also been craving chicken caprese (which I got last time). He was up for dividing and conquering: he ordered the scallop dish and I ordered my fave!
Mine was just as good as I’d remembered, and luckily, we still have some money left on the gift card so we already have a built-in excuse to go back for more! Maybe for our 5 months…? 🙂
Nathan’s exam block is in full swing, so while he’s been studying most of the time, we also had an evening this week where we made time for Life Group.
I am LOVING this Bible study every week. This time it was one person’s birthday, and he always requests pie on his birthday. Seriously – how perfect is that?! For those of you who don’t know – on my birthday I always want apple pie and vanilla ice cream (not the traditional cake). I already thought the person was a cool dude, but now I’m even more convinced. We got to enjoy some apple pie and cherry pie while talking about Jesus and sitting around a campfire. Doesn’t get much better than that on a Thursday evening!
I also gave a facelift to my desk this week at work. My mom sent us the sweetest card last week with one of her photos on the front (the purple flowers) and it now hangs right by computer. I love getting to see it and think of her! Plus, it’s one of my favorite photos that she’s ever taken.
Last but not least, some more beautiful fall photos from around our home. Here’s a test for all you photographers out there (cough, Mom, cough) – can you tell which one was taken in the afternoon and which were taken in the morning based on the lighting?
