As I mentioned in this post, our weekend plans to go to a pumpkin patch got rained out. Once we started trying to find another time before Halloween that we could go, I realized it may not be feasible this year. So I decided to take matters into my own hands and bring the pumpkin patch to us!

Between the time I got back from my grocery run and the time of the Colts’ game kickoff on Sunday, I knew we had just enough time to go “pumpkin picking”. I made sure to pick up a couple pumpkins at the grocery, and then I snuck out back and “planted” them for us to go find.

It’s a nice festive touch to welcome us home, and it was the perfect backyard date for fall 🙂

Now the real question…what do we carve?!

  1. oh my goodness – how adorable are you? I didn’t realize you had surprised Nathan with “picking” them in the backyard. That is too cute sister. We are going to carve one of ours – we usually do a normal face – nothing too fancy. Neither of us have patience for that or want to buy the right tools to do anything detailed. Make sure to save the pumpkin seeds and bake them! We usually do a savory and a sweet batch and love to have them to snack on!

    1. Ooh pumpkin seeds! Now THAT makes it way more worth it to work through the goop and goo inside…you may have just motivated me to actually carve ours soon. Ha! I want to see pictures of your pumpkin’s face when you’re done!
