With Valentine’s Day falling on a Sunday, Nathan and I made sure to make the most of two days full of fun dates together. This is our fourth time celebrating the holiday together, and it just keeps getting better and better!

We began with a date night in Bloomington on Saturday to see the Pat McAfee comedy show. We both love any excuse to go back and visit our college town, so this was perfect!

We started with a quick and delicious dinner at Qdoba before walking through campus (ahhh, memories!) to the auditorium. We got Starbucks on the way to keep us warm.

We got to our seats and had some time to talk before the show started. Once it started, we didn’t stop laughing!

I think we were both pleasantly surprised by how funny he was. I’m so glad we got to see his show! It was fun being back on our old stomping grounds too.

After walking back to our car, we knew we needed to make one more stop before driving home: Jiffy Treat! 2016-02-13 21.47.19

Nathan took me to Jiffy Treat quite a bit when we were dating in college, so it was the perfect sweet ending to our night out.

Just as good (maybe even better) than I remembered! Luckily I have a generous husband who shares his ice cream with me so I got to try both 🙂

Sunday was actually Valentine’s Day, and the whole day just felt fun and special. We didn’t have a ton of plans, which was perfect and relaxing for the two of us. 2016-02-14 16.02.52We slept in, watched our favorite Netflix show, watched a beautiful snowfall all afternoon, and just joked and laughed with each other. Nathan also brought me beautiful flowers!

For our dinner, we made authentic Italian pasta with pesto that Ali and Luke brought back from Italy for us! It was a Christmas gift and we’ve been saving it for a special occasion, and I was so excited to finally try it.

We opened our bottle of Oliver red wine (one of the only wines I actually like), shared shrimp cocktail for an appetizer, and cooked together in the kitchen. It was perfect on such a snowy evening to just stay in and enjoy being together. 2016-02-14 18.26.53

The finished product: pasta with pesto, salad, french bread and butter. Delicioso!

It was INCREDIBLE. Nathan and I could not get over how amazingly delicious the pasta and pesto were…we are both now determined to get to Italy sometime for food like this! Thanks Ali and Luke! We kept saying that our dinner was sponsored by the Stephens 🙂

Overall, it was the best Valentine’s Day yet and such a memorable weekend together. I’m lucky to have my lifetime valentine to celebrate with!
