We just wrapped up another wonderful summer weekend. I’m really savoring the bright, sunny days we get to spend together because I know they’ll be gone before I know it!

There were crazy storms on Friday night, so we stayed in and watched The Bourne Identity. I really enjoyed the movie. I’d never seen it before so it was fun to watch it with Nathan! It was wild to see how much younger Matt Damon looks compared to now.

By the time we woke up Saturday morning, clear blue skies greeted us. We were happy about it because we had grand plans for breakfast at the Farmers’ Market! We hadn’t gone since my birthday, so it was nice to get out and about.

I got my liege waffle, of course, and Nathan got a breakfast wrap.

We enjoyed our breakfast with a side of people watching, which is kind of our favorite part about the Farmers’ Market in the first place.

After we ate, we went to Starbucks to do some work for the morning. We also both did some reading and finished our books the same day! Nate finished Catcher in the Rye and I finished Homegoing. He wasn’t thrilled with his book, but I can’t say enough good things about mine. May be one of the best I’ve read all summer!

For a fitting end to our Saturday, we went to Graeter’s for ice cream. We both decided that a day that starts at the Farmers’ Market and ends at Graeter’s is a perfect summer day in our book!

Sunday felt like a vacation day. We’d gotten our cleaning done on Saturday afternoon, so on Sunday we rewarded ourselves with some time at the pool. I really enjoyed having a buddy there! Then we had “date night in” and cooked a wonderful meal together: tilapia, Red Lobster cheddar bay biscuits, mac ‘n cheese, and roasted broccoli & cauliflour.

Of course we had to eat it on the patio!

It was a wonderful ending to a great weekend full of my favorite things: good books, the best ice cream, sunshine, pool time, and most importantly: time with Nate.

Here’s hoping this week flies by!

  1. Sorry to be late to the party but I have to know about the Red Lobster cheddar biscuits!! Those were so good! Is there a recipe or a mix to buy? I must make those! ๐Ÿ™‚
